"Our music is termed Rock and Roll. And yet its origins (and much of the music we like today) stem from jazz, folk songs, Negro spirituals and country music. This music has melted into what we refer to as popular music or hit songs. And yet each style retains much of its own identity.
"What will 1969 bring? Perhaps entirely new trends. But more likely, a careful blending of the old and the new. Just as you hear on Keener." (from the Leading 113 All-Time Hits published by WKNR in 1968.)
