On May 14, 2003 this web site obtained its own domain: www.stnorberts.com

It's been a long time coming, but finally the St. Norbert's alumni web site gets its own domain and I can move it off the Rootsweb freepages server. Since they're practically giving them away these days it is time we shed the former long and ill worded URL, especially since stnorberts.com is available!

This will make the address short so you'll have a smaller and much more easy name to remember. And that's what this site is all about. Remembering. Just remember, StNorberts.com. If you are using Internet Explorer's web browser just type stnorberts.com in the address bar and hold down the Control Key and press Enter. You'll be guided straight away to the St. Norbert School alumni web site. or just type www.stnorberts.com and hit enter. Any which way you get to it, just get to it. Remember all your old friends. Remember those great days before the complications of life squeezed the child out of you, those less complicated times. Those WERE the days, weren't they?!

While for many this URL will bring up the newly located web site, for some the Domain Name Servers around the country and the world may not yet have changed their registers. So some may not yet be able to bring up the site yet, but they will in a few hours or a couple days. That's the way these things work. It can take a few days for the domain to be registered across all the ISP's in the world, so be patient, it should be finished by the middle of this week, say by June 18th, and the www.stnorberts.com domain will be active for the entire world.

Besides having a shorter URL (compared to the previous address at Rootsweb.com) there will be some added benefits stemming from the fact that the webmaster will have much more control over improvements to the site, there will be no more annoying ads at the top and bottom of each page, and more features can be added like a chat room, better Guestbook, an email address for the domain like webmaster@stnorberts.com, and more.
